Rud Company jewelry is forged to be strong and enduring—crafted with the intention of lasting for generations and becoming heirlooms. However, like all handmade and wearable art, these pieces must be treated with care.
Chains, clasps, and connectors can weaken or break if tugged, bent, or stored improperly. Natural stones—especially rare or one-of-a-kind—cannot be exactly replaced if damaged or lost. Always handle your jewelry gently and with intention.

GENERAL CARE

DO NOT use dip cleaners or liquid silver polishes.
These can strip away intentional antiquing and damage natural stones.

USE ONLY a professional jewelry polishing cloth or pad.
A gentle swipe will restore luster while preserving patina and design detail.

METAL CHARACTERISTICS

Sterling silver, copper, and brass naturally oxidize and darken over time. This is normal and expected for jewelry that isn’t coated in rhodium or chemical sealants. Use a polishing cloth to brighten the metal while preserving the aged beauty.

CARING FOR NATURAL STONES

Our pieces often feature raw or polished natural stones, each with unique color, pattern, and structure.
To preserve them:

  • Avoid harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, and dip solutions.
    Many stones are porous or fragile and can be permanently damaged.

  • Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth.

  • Do not expose stones to extreme heat, sunlight, or water for prolonged periods.

  • Store separately to avoid scratching or chipping.

HANDLING & STORAGE

  • Always handle with care. Avoid tugging on chains, dropping pieces, or storing them where they can be bent or crushed.

  • Remove jewelry before bathing, swimming, sleeping, or physical activity.

  • Store in a dry, airtight container or soft pouch to prevent oxidation and tangling.
